Yoga Classes 2019

Please read the conditions of attendance at the bottom of this page before booking.

Daytime classes take place in my home studio, at 45 Tungstone Way, Market Harborough, LE16 9GA. Evening classes are at St Hugh’s Church Hall, Granville St. Maket Harborough, LE16 9HF.  Class times, descriptions and fees are below, feel free to contact me via the contact page if you need any more information.  For TERM DATES and booking conditions scroll down.

Mondays

Tuesdays

Please note that classes are charged on a termly basis, not on a per class basis (see “Prices” below for full details).

Ashtanga Yoga

Suitable for anyone with a reasonable to good level of fitness, some yoga experience preferred (or contact me for special rate 1:1’s to prepare for Ashtanga yoga class).  This class follows the postures and principles of the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series, taking half  of the primary series postures on alternate weeks. We’ll also look at breath, bandhas or internal locks, and the mind-body connection. This active and dynamic class will introduce you to a new and inspiring way of raising your general level of fitness and flexibility, achieving balance in body, mind and spirit.

Hatha Yoga

Working with traditional yoga postures at your own pace, this class will help you to develop strength and flexibility. Practise will include breath techniques or ‘pranayama’, and meditation, to ensure a calm mind and strong mental focus. Final relaxation helps to melt away any stress or tension for a feeling of lasting well-being.

Yin Yoga

Static, floor based postures are held for longer periods of time, enabling work to penetrate to the deeper body tissues.  Hatha and Ashtanga work on muscle strength and flexibility, whereas Yin conditions and strengthens the muscle fascia, joints and ligaments.  The static nature of this style does not equate to an easy option, but instead brings the challenge of totally stilling the mind and listening to our internal reactions to the poses being practised.  As a result Yin gives us a wonderful feeling of space and calm.

Prices

Please note that classes are bookable on a per-term basis only (term dates below) with the exception of Aerial yoga, which can be selected dates but must be booked in advance. Classes are priced at £8 x the number of weeks in the term for Hatha/Yin, £9 for Ashtanga yoga and £10 per peroson for Aerial assuming 3 people attending.

T1: 6th Jan – 14th Feb, 6 weeks followed by 1 week break

T2A: 24th Feb – 6th Mar, 2 weeks followed by 2 weeks break (INDIA TRIP)

T2B: 23rd Mar – 3rd Apr, 2 weeks followed by 2 weeks break

T3: 20th Apr – 22nd May, 5 weeks (Mon 4 wks) followed by 1 week break

T4: 1st Jun – 10th Jul, 6 weeks followed by 3 weeks break

Summer School: 3rd Aug – 21st Aug, 3 weeks followed by 1 week break

T5: 1st Sept – 9th Oct, 6 weeks (Mon 5 weeks) followed by 2 weeks break

T6: 26th Oct – 11th Dec, 7 weeks followed by Jingle Bells … 

General Notice for all Classes

Start times given will be observed promptly, so it’s a good idea to arrive 10 minutes or so early to register and settle yourself in before we begin. Please contact me before attending class for the first time, especially if you have any medical complaints or injuries.

Mats and equipment are provided at my Home Studio, please bring your own equipment for classes at St Hugh’s. You should wear loose comfortable clothing to class, and also ensure you bring layers to wear during relaxation. You may bring a blanket for relaxation if you prefer to use your own (although one can be provided at Home Studio only). Please remember to turn your mobile phone off before class.

Conditions of attendance

Spaces are allocated on a termly basis, payment for the full term is required to secure your space. Aerial Yoga may be booked for selected dates but must be paid in advance on confirmation.

Annual Holidays need not be paid for, please let me know dates before the beginning of term.

If you need to miss a class during term you are welcome to make up a class within the same term as long as space is available.

I may be able to fill any classes you miss and cannot make up, and if I can you will receive a credit for the next term, however this cannot be guaranteed.

I will assume that you wish to keep your space from term to term, if you do not please let me know well in advance so that I can offer your space to someone else.
